The tarot is a very special set of cards with a very long history attached to them. It is to be said that they derive from the ancient egyptians. A tarot deck of cards are very similar to a normal deck of playing cards,but instead of diamonds,hearts,spades and clubs,there are wands,cups,swords and pentacles. Both have suits from ace to ten. I n a tarot deck these are known as minor arcana. Although similar to a normal deck of playing cards,each suit in tarot has four court cards instead of three:king,queen,knight and page. There are 56 cards in the minor arcana. In addition to the minor cards, the tarot deck has 22 extra cards,known as the major arcana. They do not have any specific suit, but they do have their own numbers,apart from the fool,a symbolic image and a title.
